Plowman rites Thursday

DOUDS - Henry F. Plowman, 76, Douds, was found dead at 11 a.m. Monday at his home. Death was attributed to natural causes.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds with the Rev. Harold Harryman officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Douds. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where memorials may be left.

Plowman was born June 5, 1910 near Douds, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otis L. Plowman. He lived in the Douds community except for several years in Nebraska. He was a retire farmer and sheep shearer, and was a member of Starlight Lodge 350, Knights of Pythias at Douds. He married Ruth A. Neal Sept. 20, 1936 at Kimball, Neb.

Surviving are his wife, a patient at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield; three sons, David, Pacific, Mo.; Fred and Lynn, both of Olathe, Kan.; four daughters, Marie Spilman, Phoenix, Ariz.; Dorothy Bell, Marshalltown; Patricia Hill, Burlington; Joan Denney, Fairfield; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a half-brother, James Plowman, Bayfield, Colo.; a half-sister, Vyrene Thompson, Phoenix, Ariz. A sister preceded him in death.
