Mary W. Phillips

Mary Winifred Phillips, the daughter of H. Melville and Mary Lacey Shultz, was born April 13, 1927 at Shipman, Ill. and died the afternoon of Tuesday May 19, 1987 at her home near Cantril, Iowa at the age of 60.

She graduated from Shipman High School and lived in Springfield and Decatur, Ill. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Daughters of the American Revolution.

Her marriage to Edward Phillips of Burlington took place November 13, 1977 at Carlinville, Ill., and they have lived their married life in the Cantril community.

Surviving are her husband, a son, Matthew Stiles, Orlando, Fla., four daughters, Merilee Stiles, New Orleans, La., Michelle Garrison, Loveland, Colo., Janice Bishop, Knoxville, Iowa and Patti Rephan, Los Angeles, Calif., and her mother, Mary L. Shultz, Fort Myers, Fla.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 22, 1987 at 10:30 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, Iowa, with Rev. Gerald Caughron officiating. Interment was in Purdom Cemetery, Keosauqua. A memorial was established.
