Dorothy McCormac

Dorothy McCormac, 82, formerly of Letts and Columbus Junction, died Tuesday, May 26 at St. Anthony Hospital, Rockford, Ill.

Services were held Friday, May 29 at 1 p.m. at the Letts United Methodist Church. The Rev. Richard Faris officiated. Grandsons were pallbearers. Burial was in the Letts Cemetery.

The former Dorothy Owen was born Jan 28, 1904 at Farmington, the daughter of Arthur and Maude Greenlee Owen. On Aug. 25, 1926 she married Harold McCormac at Farmington. He died July 10, 1977.

She was a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and was an elementary school teacher. She was a member of the church, Chapter T of TTT, the Letts Garden Club, Letts Federated Club, Louisa County Farm Bureau Women, Chapter CX Peo, Columbus Junction, and the Half-Hour Federated Club, Columbus Junction.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Kathleen) Wardrip, Westport, Conn., and Diane McDaniel, Rockford; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one brother, Albert Owen, Poplar Bluff, Mo.
