Bertha (Helen) House

Bertha (Helen) House, 86, of Escondido, California died Tuesday, May 26, 1987.

She was born January 14, 1901 in Mount Pleasant.

She and her husband owned and operated a bakery in Farmington which they opened in 1920 and operated for many years. She lived in Burlington from 1942 to 1968.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary No. 149, Escondido, Order of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine No. 11, both of Burlington, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers and the First United Methodist Church, Escondido.

Surviving are four sons, William House, Escondido, Eugene House, Poway, California, Craig House, Costa Mesa, California and Wendell House, Tucson, Arizona; a brother, LaMonte Pettis, Burlington; 23 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. House were held May 29, 1987 at the Alhiser-Wilson Mortuary Escondido Chapel. Burial was in Oak Hill Memorial Park, Escondido.
