Katherine Lorraine Nye

Katherine Lorraine Nye, 36, of Rt. 1, Keokuk, died at 1:45 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.

She was born March 29, 1951, in Memphis, Mo., the daughter of Lloyd and Luella Kent Smith. She married Glenwood Nye on May 11, 1968, in Keokuk.

She had lived in Keokuk since her marriage, and was a 4-H club leader and a member of the Santa Fe United Methodist Church in Fort Madison.

Survivors include her husband; son Lonnie of Keokuk; daughter Shawn of Keokuk; parents Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Smith of Milton, Iowa; brothers, Raymond of Upland, Calif. and Wendell of Donnellson; four nephews and four nieces.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Santa Fe United Methodist Church in Fort Madison with Dr. Raymond Boulter officiating. Burial will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery in Keokuk.

Visitation will be after 1 p.m. today at DeJong's Funeral Home with the family meeting friends from 7-9 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Santa Fe United Methodist Church.
