John Robert Brickey

John Robert Brickey, 37, of Ottumwa Route 1, died at 6:40 p.m. July 4, 1987 at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

He was born October 13, 1949 in Fairfield, to Raymond and Katherine Harris Brickey.

He moved from Birmingham to Ottumwa in 1985. He taught for the last nine years at Hedrick High School and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Ottumwa.

He married Judith McIntosh on June 5, 1970.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Jason, at home; a daughter, Jessica, at home; his mother, Katherine Brickey of Fairfield; a sister, Jane Brickey of Des Moines and a brother Bill, of Mt. Pleasant.

Services were held Tuesday, July 7, 1987 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Ottumwa. Reverend Wayne Gierde officiated. Burial was in Wolfe Cemetery eight miles southwest of Keosauqua.

Memorials have been established to his church or Brain Tumor Research Center at University Hospitals in Iowa City and may be sent to Reece Funeral Home, Ottumwa, Iowa.
