Dean McKee rites in Georgia

Dr. Dean Greer McKee, 79, Decatur, Ga., formerly of the Fairfield area, died Sunday at his home. Services were held at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Decatur.

McKee was born Jan. 28, 1908 near Stockport, the son of G.T. and Eva Yost McKee. A graduate of Parsons College, he married Mildred Ernestine Schwartz, who also was a Parsons graduate, and a Fairfield resident. She died in 1972.

An ordained Presbyterian minister, McKee was president of the New York Biblical Seminary before he and his wife relocated, joining the staff of Columbia Theological Seminary at Decatur.

On Nov. 14, 1972, he married Adele Pope Dieckman, who is well known in church and college musical circles in Decatur.

McKee was a first cousin to Lester McKee and Ruth McKee Canaday, both of Birmingham.

Correction

Dr. Dean Greer McKee, who died July 19 at his home in Decatur, Ga., was born July 28, 1904. The wrong birthdate was supplied to the Ledger for the July 24 obituary. McKee is also survived by an additional first cousin, Ralph Johnston, Fairfield.
