Thomas A. Knapp

Thomas A. Knapp, 66, formerly of Fort Madison, died 9:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 1987, at the Hines V.A. Medical Center, Maywood, Ill.

Born April 29, 1921, at Moravia, he was the son of Arthur and Cecil Mary Maxwell Knapp. He married Cecila Jacobs in 1943 in Fort Madison.

He had made his home with his daughter in Brookfield, Ill., since 1974. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a painter and a member of Amvets, Des Moines.

Surviving are two sons, Thomas Knapp Jr., Farmington, and David Knapp, Fort Madison; three daughters, Mrs. Tonya (Paul) Olgue, Post Falls, Idaho, Cherly Boughner, Stickney, Ill., and Mrs. Helen (William) Stotler, Brookfield, Ill.; five brothers, Ted Knapp, Kankakee, Ill., Jerry Knapp and Mickey Knapp, both of Jacksonville, Ark., Larry Knapp, Des Moines, and John Knapp, Lexington, N.Y.; two sisters, Mrs. Donia (Adrian) Buechel, Fort Madison, and Mrs. Callie (Larry) Wendland, Moulton; and 10 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the King-Lynk Funeral Home, Fort Madison.

The service for Mr. Knapp will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the King-Lynk Funeral Home, Fort Madison. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
