Neil R. Warner

Neil R. Warner, 84, formerly of 1133 South St., Ottumwa, died July 28, 1987 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

He was born Aug. 8, 1902, in Van Buren County to Harry and Mary Brill Warner. He was a resident of Van Buren County until 1951 when he moved to Fort Madison and then moved to Ottumwa in 1983. He was a retired farmer, an avid baseball player and fan and attended Evangelistic Temple. He married Helen Williams April 22, 1931, in Keosauqua.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Bernice Hinton of Drakesville, Betty Stratton of Mount Pleasant and Hellen Bullard of Fort Madison; six sons, Robert and Ronny of Ottumwa, Charles of Hamilton, Ill., Larry of Wever and Joe and David of Fort Madison; 42 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Frank of Bentonsport. He was preceded in death by triplets - an infant daughter and two infant sons.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. July 31, 1987 at Bentonsport Cemetery in Bentonsport, the Rev. Tommy Brunk of Evangelistic Temple officiating.

A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society in care of Florene DeBuhr, 3 Carter Court Lane.
