Thelma L. Madden

Services for Thelma L. Madden, 78, Farmington, were held August 31, 1987 at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington. Burial was in Harness Cemetery, Mt. Sterling.

Mrs. Madden died at 10 p.m. Friday, August 28, 1987 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua.

She was born March 29, 1909 at Granger, Missouri. She had lived in Farmington 12 years.

On May 15, 1929, at Keosauqua, she was married to Lloyd Madden, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are a son, Don (Gene) Madden, rural Donnellson; a daughter, Mrs. Carl (JoAnne) Jemison, Webster, South Dakota; a brother, Eddy Merrick, Luray, Missouri; a sister, Anna Lee Smith, Rogers, Arkansas; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, a brother, three sisters and a grandchild. Her parents were George and Alice Hunter Merrick.

A memorial has been established with the Farmington EMT unit.
