Mabel Hershey

Former Troy resident Mabel Hershey, 79, died Aug. 3, 1987, at Bloomfield Care Center.

She was born Sept. 19, 1909, in Wever to Peter and Harriett Purdent Peel. She was a member of Troy United Methodist Church, the Mission Circle, and was a former member of Rebekah Lodge in Troy.

She married Weldon Hershey on June 24, 1923 in Clarence, mo. He died Sept. 8, 1979.

She is survived by a daughter, Vicky Moehle of Mediapolis; two sons, Larry of Bloomfield and Lindale of Longmont, Colo:; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Leo Peel of Springdale, Ark.

The service was at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 1987 at Priester Funeral Chapel in Bloomfield, the Rev. Len Camp officiating. Burial was in Troy Cemetery.

Memorials have been established to her church or to the Mission Circle.
