Willis E. Thomas

Willis E. Thomas, 97, of Keosauqua died Sept. 13, 1987, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.

He was born Sept. 5, 1890, near Keosauqua to Riley and Tabitha Ellis Thomas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired farmer and a state conservationist.

He married Chloe Harbin. She died in 1967.

He is survived by a son, Robert of Ottumwa; three daughters, Betty Hamman of Nauvoo, Ill., Willa Tucker of Stockton, Calif., and Donna Hahn of Los Angeles, Calif.; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Vance of Milton.

The service was Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1987 at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, the Rev. Bob Patterson officiating. Burial was in Fellows Cemetery in Keosauqua.

Memorials have been established to Fellows Cemetery.
