ELDON - Doris R. Carter, 79, of Eldon died July 21, 1986, at River Hills Care Center in Ottumwa.

She was born Oct. 15, 1906, in Ottumwa to William and Maude Renee McMickle. She had spent most of her life in Wapello County, and was a member of United Methodist Church at Eldon, and the Degree of Honor Protective Association.

She is survived by six daughters, Betty Shumaker and Ruth Ann Downing of Ottumwa, Dorothy Wells of Red Oak, Martha Marker of Polk City, and Lucille Sapp and Patty Durflinger of Eldon; and two sons, Fred of Douds and William of Burlington, Colo.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Eldon United Methodist Church, the Rev. Dale Gray officiating. Burial will be in Eldon Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will be at Campbell Funeral Home in Eldon from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday.

A memorial has been established to United Methodist Church in Eldon.
