Wayne "Bill" Watson

Wayne "Bill" Watson, 75, of Los Angeles, Calif., formerly of Hillsboro, died Thursday, July 24, in the Veteran's Administration Hospital, Los Angeles.

Born Dec. 18, 1910, Van Buren County, near Hillsboro, he was the son of John W. and Ethel Guthrie Watson

He graduated from the Hillsboro High School and lived his adult life in California where he was a carpenter. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are three sisters, Myrtle Hawbaker, Hillsboro, Lois Whittington, Jasper, Texas, and Betty Simpkins, Melbourne, Ark.; one brother, Warren, Remville, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.

The body will be cremated. Memorial services for Mr. Watson will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hillsboro Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed Newman officiating. Burial will be in Hillsboro Cemetery with military rites by John Richard Hoaglin of Post 610 of the American Legion, Hillsboro.

A memorial has been established. Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, is in charge of arrangements.
