Lloyd T. Carpenter

Lloyd T. Carpenter, 68, Bonaparte, died at 4:20 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 1986 at the Keokuk Convalescent Center.

Mr. Carpenter was born May 7, 1918, in West Virginia. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Bonaparte American Legion.

On November 4, 1945, at Columbus, Georgia, he married Hazel Franklin, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Thomas L. Carpenter, Keosauqua and Melvin J. Carpenter, Stockport; three daughters, Susie May Herrin, Gulfport, Mississippi, Virginia Black, Parkersburg, Virginia and Kitty Cherrill, Fort Madison; two brothers, Henry Carpenter, Harrisville, West Virginia and John Carpenter, Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Mildred McKinsey, Harrisville, West Virginia and 16 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son and two grandchildren. His parent were Isaac and Mary Ann Carpenter.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Bonaparte Baptist Church. Burial was in Brotherton Cemetery, Libertyville, Iowa.

Hofbauer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
