Elmer Fleagle rites Friday

Services for Elmer Everett Fleagle Sr., 63, of Burlington, who died Monday at his home, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery southeast of Fairfield. Friends may call at their convenience. A family memorial has been established.

Fleagle was born Feb. 6, 1923 in Fairfield, the son of Claude and Mary M. Jerrel Fleagle. He was reared and educated in Fairfield. He was a member of the Nazarene Church at Burlington. He had been a truck driver, a security guard at Fort Madison, and had served as a police officer in Red Oak and Eddyville. He was married to Eva Jones, Mary Whipple and Karen Baxter.

Surviving are four sons, Larry of Clarence, Mo., Elmer Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo., E. Allen of Little Rock, Ark., William of Burlington; three daughters, Candace Johnson of New Orleans, La., Teresa Adams of Elmore, Ala., Martha Swan of Burlington; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three brothers, Frank of Ottumwa, Norman of Keosauqua, Verlin of DeWitt, and an uncle, Clifford Jerrel of Fairfield. His parents a sister and a granddaughter preceded him in death.
