Dr. Frank Haven McClurg

The service for Dr. Frank Haven McClurg, 87, 1002 E. Adams Ave., who died at 7:10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 1995, at Jefferson County Hospital, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Richard Wallarab officiating. Burial will be in Purdom Cemetery at Keosauqua. Visitation is open at Raymond Funeral Home. Memorials have been established to the Fairfield Public Library, Jefferson County Hospital and the American Heart Association.

McClurg was born Nov. 19, 1907, in Keosauqua, the son of Dr. Frank S. and Margaret Roberts McClurg. He grew up in Keosauqua, graduating from Keosauqua High School. He received his undergraduate, graduate study and medical training at University of Iowa in Iowa City. He served as a doctor to the CCC Camp in Keosauqua before moving to Fairfield to assume the practice of the late Dr. Clarke. He was a general family practice physician and surgeon until retiring in 1975. On July 9, 1936, he married Laura Clara Weimer Bock at her parents' home in Fairfield. She died May 14, 1985. He married Lucile Simpson on Dec. 31, 1986, at First Presbyterian Church.

He was a avid hunter and fisherman, and a member of First Presbyterian Church, Fairfield Golf and Country Club, the Elks Lodge, Abracadabra, and Jefferson County Medical Society.

Surviving are his wife; a step-daughter, Laura Simpson of Fairfield; and a cousin.
