STOCKPORT - Evangie Loretta Wells, 89, of rural Stockport, died at 11:20 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 1995, at Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Stockport Christian Church with Milton Duhon, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery at Stockport. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Memorials have been established to Stockport Christian Church and American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Wells was born Nov. 3, 1905, in Big Stone Gap, Va., the daughter of James and Eliza Gilly Collier. On Jan. 2, 1922, she married Esmond L. Wells at Big Stone Gap. He died Jan. 8, 1977. She was a homemaker, a member of Stockport Christian Church, Stockport American Legion Auxiliary, Christian Women's Fellowship, and was a Cedar Township Trustee.

Surviving are two daughters, Pauline Kaplan of Tucson, Ariz., Esther Schwerin of Burlington; seven sons, James of Durant, Marvin of Monroe, Wis., Donald of St. Louis, Charlie and Larry, both of Des Moines, Andy and David, both of Fairfield; 23 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ida Bowen of Clinchport, Va.; and brother, Carl Collier of Knoxville, Tenn. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Henry; a brother, Willard Collier; and two sisters, Wilhite Johnson and Sandy Collier.
