Fenton D. Jones

Fenton D. Jones, 66, of Fremont, Calif., died at 7:11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 1991, from injuries sustained in a two-car accident at the Brookville corner in Jefferson County.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Fremont Chapel of the Roses in Fremont. Memorials to place a bench in a park near the family home may be sent to the family hone, 41506 Chandbourne Drive, Fremont,Calif., 95438. Raymond Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Jones was born June 24, 1925, in Douds, the son of George Elmer and Grace Lillian Miller Jones. He grew up near Cantril, graduated from high school in Chicago and had lived in California since 1958. He married Doris Marcene Wyckoff on Aug. 21, 1949, at Fairfield. A retired teacher, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Michael Alan Jones of Niles, Calif.; a daughter, Jody Whetsel of Sedalia, Colo.; two grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Kuczek of Oxnard, Calif., Jeanne Shinn of Kansas City, Mo.; and a brother, Kevin in Connecticut. His parents, a brother, LeRoy, and two sisters, Mary L. Jones and Ellen Jones, preceded him in death.
