Nellie C. Duffield, 80, wife of James E. Duffield of rural Keosauqua died at 1:55 p.m. Saturday, August 9, [1975], at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital. She had been hospitalized for ten days and leaving the hospital to go home when she suffered ...(missing line)...tack in the hospital.

...(missing line)...daughter of Thomas and Margaret Stevens Dehart, she was born June 5, 1895 near Bentonsport.

On August 13, 1913, she married Mr. Duffield in Keosauqua. They have spent their married life farming in Van Buren Co.

Surviving in addition to her widower are a daughter, Mrs. Roy [Esther] Stump of Douds, a grandson, James Stump, of Elgin, Ill., and three great-grandchildren, Duff, Sarah, and Danny Stump, other relatives and many friends.

Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Keosauqua Christian Church.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 12, 1975 at 2 p.m. at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Harold Schnedler officiating. Interment was in the Pittsburg Cemetery.

Nellie Duffield's husband, James E. Duffield was a nephew of my great-grandmother, Susanah Hollen Morrison, and a first-cousin to my grandmother, Lucy Morrison Blackburn.
