Julia Leffler Perkins.

Julia Anne Leffler Perkins was called home on the evening of Oct. 26, 1908, aged 60 years, two months and one day. She was born at the late home in Harrisburg township, Van Buren county, Iowa, August 1848, a daughter of Mansuet and Irene Leffler who were early pioneers.

She was united in marriage to Stephen Perkins, Jan. 3, 1901. She was the seventh child in a family of 11 children, and was the fifth of the children to depart this life, leaving three sisters and three brothers to mourn her loss.

She had been a consistent yet, patient sufferer for years, her illness being very protracted and severe. During her active years she assisted in maintaining a Sunday School near her home. She felt the need of a personal Savior and desired to indicate the same by a public profession of her faith in Christ and be identifying herself with Gods people, but from various hindrances had never done so. Her life was earnest and conscientious and her faith fervent to the end.

Funeral services were held at the late home Thursday at 11 o’clock, Rev. Trenerry of the Baptist church officiating. Interment in Bentonsport cemetery.
