Richard Orin Cox, 56, of rural Batavia died Friday at 11:15 p.m. at St Joseph Hospital [Ottumwa.]
He was born Oct. 15, 1918, in Van Buren County, to Orin G. and Losie Nichols Cox.
He was a farmer and school bus driver for Pekin Community Schools and was a charter member of the People's Church, Batavia.
He married Marian Jones Aug. 30, 1941 in Kahoka, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving are four children, Dale La Verne of Wayland, Mary Dickinson of Pella, David Richard of Des Moines and John Randall, at home; one grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Reva Dale of Ottumwa and Mrs. William Wagaman of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by one brother.
The service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at People's Church north of Batavia with the Rev. Kermit Black officiating. The casket will be taken to the church from the Campbell Funeral Home in Batavia Monday at 9:30 a.m.
