Lois Gertrude Parrish, 58, of Harker Heights, Texas, formerly of Burlington, died at 9:54 p.m. Tuesday at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas.
She was born Aug. 5, 1927, in Fairfield, to Noble and Myrtle Gilliland Samons. She married Leon Parrish Jr. in April 1969 in Naha, Okinawa.
She was a lower elementary school teacher in Burlington schools, Jefferson County, Iow, and three years in the Department of Defense schools. She taught since 1971 in the Killeen schools, Harker Heights. She was a life member of the National Education Association and a member of Alpha Delta Kappa in Burlington.
Surviving are her husband; three stepchildren; one step-grandchild; one sister, Lorraine Samons, Burlington; and an aunt, Marie Lundquist, Fairfield.
Service for Mrs. Parrish will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Hickman officiating. Burial will be in the Leando Cemetery near Douds.
