Dorothy Gilbert

Dorothy Gilbert, 64, of Farmington, died at 3:39 a.m. Monday, July 14, at the Ottumwa Regional Hospital.

Born Sept. 5, 1921, at Mapleton, Mo., she was the daughter of Jake and Sylvia Ramsey Vestal. She married Bennie Himes; he died earlier. She later married Sterling Gilbert; he died earlier.

She was a resident of Farmington for 31 years and was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Farmington.

Surviving are two sons, Wilbur Himes, Alexandria, Mo., and Danny Himes, Mount Pleasant; two daughters, Mrs. Richard Losey and Mrs. David Counts, both of Farmington; two brothers, Howard Vestal and Walter Vestal, both of Des Moines; two sisters, Colleen Morrow, Missouri; and Mrs. Kenneth Landgrede, Monroe; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services for Mrs. Gilbert, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington, with Duane Potter officiating. Burial will be in Greenglade Cemetery, Farmington.
