E. Cretcher funeral Friday

CANTRIL - Services for Eva J. Cretcher, 84, of Cantril, who died Aug. 5, will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Cantril United Methodist Church with the Rev. Andrew Rubenking officiating. The family will be at Pedrick Funeral Home Thursday from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril. Memorials to the Cantril United Methodist Church may be left at the funeral home.

She was born Sept. 9, 1901 near Cantril, the daughter of Henry and Bertha Burns Beaty. She graduated from Cantril High Schoo, attended college in Centerville and taught in rural schools in Cantril.

She married George Crecher and one great-grandchild.
farmed there until they moved to town in 1941. He died in 1961.

Mrs. Cretcher was a member of Cantril United Methodist Church, Van Buren County Historical Society, Retired Teachers Association and a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by two daughters, Roberta Rusk of Le Grange, Ill., and Louise Dunn of Sun City Center, Fla.; a step-son, Harold of Yuba City, Calif.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Including her husband, Mrs. Cretcher was preceded in death by a sister.
