Mrs. Vivian L. Thornton, 56, of Stockport, died Wednesday, May 28, at her home.
She was born July 29, 1929, in Van Buren County, to Carl H. and Irene J. Brown Tomkins. She married Jack Thornton on Aug. 15, 1948, at Hillsboro. Mrs. Thornton was a Stockport resident for more than 20 years and was a member of the Hillsboro Christian Church. Surviving are her husband and parents, all of Stockport; a brother, Carl Tomkins Jr. of California; and a sister, Joyce Paaske, Rockwood, Tenn.
Visitation will be 7-8 p.m. Friday, at the Burch-Raymond Funeral Home, Birmingham.
Services for Mrs. Thornton will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Stockport Christian Church with the Rev. Robert Butt officiating. Burial will be in Hillsboro Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Heart Association.
