Nellie Cecil

Nellie E. Cecil, 89, formerly of Milton, died at 8:30 a.m. May 27, 1986, at River Hills Care Center.

She was born Dec. 14, 1896, in Van Buren County to Jesse B. and Cora Colvin Marshall. She had lived in Milton from 1919 to 1977, when she moved to Ottumwa. She was a member of Milton United Methodist Church, and the American Legion Auxiliary and Order of Eastern Star in Milton. She married Charles L. Cecil Oct. 22, 1919. He died Feb. 13, 1978.

She is survived by two sons, Clarence of Ottumwa and Donald of Amarillo, Texas; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Weltha Heater of Ottumwa.

The service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home, the Rev. Laurence Garrett of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.

A memorial has been established to Alzeheimers Foundation in care of St. Joseph Health and Rehabilitation Center.
