Tuesday rites for E. Cecil

Eunice Ellen Cecil, 78, of Logan Apartments, died at 8:45 p.m. Friday at the Jefferson County Hospital.

Mrs. Cecil was born May 18, 1911 in Washington County, the daughter of Benjamin A. and Grace E. Armstrong Nichols. She married Thomas W. Cecil March 24, 1950 in Blakesburg. He died July 28, 1980 in Mount Pleasant.

She was an employee of the Harlan Hotel in Mount Pleasant for 25 years. She had lived in Fairfield for the past nine months and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include three brothers: Henry Nichols of Douds, Roy Nichols of Cedarburg, Wis., and Robert Nichols of Knoxville; and a sister, Dorothy Srout of Fairfield.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cecil will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. James Battey officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning Monday.

A memorial has been established to the First Baptist Church.
