John E. Workman

John E. Workman, 79, died in St. Luke's Hospital in Richmond, VA., March 15, 1986 after suffering a stroke a few days earlier at his home in Ashland, VA.

The son of George and Bernice Bouman Workman he was born Nov. 27, 1906 near Mt. Zion. He attended Keosauqua High School and graduated in 1924. He married Mary Higdon May 11, 1930. He was the father of two children: William E. of Alabama and Ginger Stanley near Ashland.

His wife preceded him in death June 12, 1979.

Their children, three granddaughters and one grandson survive as well as four brothers and two sisters.

Floyd of Syracuse, N.Y.; Walter of Farmington, Mich.; George M. of Louisville, Ky.; Earl S. of Richmond, VA.; Lucile Stookesberry of Denver, Colo.; and Rachel Meek of Stockport.

Several nieces and nephews and cousins survive.

Funeral Services and burial were held in Ashland, VA.
