Lester Wilson rites Friday

Lester E. "Wink" Wilson, 80, 52 W. Madison, died at 11:06 p.m. Tuesday at Jefferson County Hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Clair Odell officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Birmingham. Masonic rites will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Family visitation will follow. A memorial has been established to United Parkinson's Foundation.

Wilson was born May 10, 1905, in Birmingham, the son of George C. and Florence Hearne Wilson. He married Beulah B. Dice Feb. 24, 1934 in Ottumwa. She survives.

Also surviving are a son, Jerry G. of Spring Hill, Kan.; a daughter, Nancy J. Salter of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren, and one sister, Grace R. Swanson of El Cajon, Calif. A sister and two brothers preceded him in death.

Wilson had lived in the Fairfield community the last 52 years and before that in Birmingham. He worked as assistant production manager at Louden Machinery Company for 43 years, retiring in October, 1971. He was past master of Clinton Masonic Lodge 15 AF and AM, and had served many years as its secretary. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
