BLANCHE (RANSON) ZANE

Mrs. Blanche (Ranson) Zane, age 86, passed away suddenly February 6, 1986 at Ann Arbor, Michigan.

She was born August 27, 1899 in Henry County, the daughter of William and Minnie Archibald Barton. In 1916 she was married to Rolland W. Ranson at Hillsboro, Iowa. For many years they lived on a farm near Stockport. He preceded her in death in April, 1964.

To this union five children were born three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Dorothy Beckington and Mrs. Betty Gerstler of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Mrs. Peggy Waters of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, William Ranson of Grand Rapids, Michgan and Willard Ranson of Temple Terrace, Florida.

In 1938 they moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan and for 20 years she was employed by Argus Camera, Inc. She they returned to Iowa and in February 1968 was married to Lee Zane at Memphis, Missouri. He preceded her in death in January, 1977. She then returned to Michigan where she made her home until her death.

Survivors include her five children, one stepson Lee Zane, Jr. of Barrington, Illinois, 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, a sister, Mrs. Grace Moxley and a brother, Leo Barton.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and of the women's church organization.

Funeral services were held on February 10, 1986 at Zion Lutheran Church with burial in Washtenong Memorial Park, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
