Lloyd Dawson rites Saturday

KEOSAUQUA - Services for Lloyd A. Dawson, 88, who died early Tuesday at Keokuk Convalescent Home in Keokuk, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with the Rev. James Watson officiating. Burial will be in Clay Grove Cemetery northwest of Donnellson. Memorials to Keosauqua Congregational Church or Keosauqua Senior Citizens Center may be left at the funeral home. Visitation is open.

Dawson was born May 8, 1897 near Donnellson, the son of Commodore and Nannie Powell Dawson. He married Irene Steward, who died in 1940. He married Ruth Ferris Dec. 12, 1950 at Kahoka, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are a sister, Delta Paschal of Keosauqua; a brother, Lee Dawson of Shelton, Wash.; a grandson and a great-granddaughter. A daughter preceded him in death.

Dawson farmed until 1948, then was employed at Hohl and Hohl Hardware in Keosauqua, retiring in 1972.
