Melva Lorraine Andrews

Melva Lorraine Andrews, 66, of the Fountain West Care Center, Des Moines, formerly of Ft. Madison, died Sunday, Feb. 16, at the care center.

She was born Dec. 6, 1919, in Ft. Madison, to Arthur and Marie Tottenhoff Brown. She married Ralph Virgil Andrews, in Kahoka, Mo., Nov. 11, 1938; he died Jan. 12, 1953.

She moved from Ft. Madison to Des Moines in 1958. She was a Des Moines Cold Storage Company bookkeeper, retiring in December 1984. She was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Patricia (George) Boring, Keosauqua, Mrs. Bonnie (James) Hultman, Des Moines, Mrs. Kay Lynn (Steven) Tucker, Mesa, Ariz.; one brother, R.E. Brown, Washington, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A parish rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 7:30 at Barr Memorial Chapel, Ft. Madison.

Services for Mrs. Andrews will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Ft. Madison, with the Rev. Robert McAleer officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Ft. Madison.
