Little Child Dies During Auto Trip
Gene Edward, two months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Cox, died Saturday evening [1928] while en route with his parents from Moline, Ill., to make an over Sunday visit in Keosauqua with Mr. Cox's parents, Ray and Jennie [Cochran] Cox.
The little boy was alive when they stopped at Fairfield, but was dead when they arrived in Keosauqua, the physician who was called stating that he had not been smothered, but must have died during a convulsion.
Funeral services were held on Monday with interment at Center Chapel.
The child's mother is Flora Belle Kerr Cox, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Kerr of Bonaparte, and a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kerr. Several of the Bonaparte relatives attended the service.
I am related; submitted for those who might have an interest in family genealogy.
