F. Edith Cox, 93 of Eldon died at 6:35 a.m. May 25, 1995, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

She was born Oct. 10, 1901 in Keosauqua to Peter and Eva Lena Slutts Oosthoek. She married Leslie E. Cox on Sept. 8, 1920 in Keosauqua. He died Oct. 9, 1971.

She was reared and received her education in Keosauqua. She and her husband farmed in Van Buren County until retiring and moving to Eldon in 1966. She was a member of Eldon Christian Church.

She is survived by two sons, Wayne Cox of Keosauqua and Willis Cox of Carlisle; two daughters, Wanda Clarke of Davenport and Wilma Marsh of Kansas City, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Walter and Warren; and a brother, Martin Oosthoek.

The service was held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 1995 at Eldon Christian church, the Rev. Zeph Wallis officiating. Burial was in Kilbourn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to her church.
