CLARENCE D. RILEY

Clarence D. Riley, 80, Farmington, died at 8:20 p.m. Dec. 2, at the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.

A retire farmer, he was born Jan. 28, 1905 at Richland, Iowa the son of John Riley and Sylvia M. Haynes Riley.

On July 19, 1929, at Ft. Madison, he married May Becker, who survives.

Also surviving are three sons, John Riley, Wichita Falls, Texas, Charles Riley, Chicago, and Lloyd Riley, Farmington; a daughter, Mrs. Jim (Freda) Benedict, Farmington; two sisters, Helen Passer, Rhinelander, Wis., and Mamie Philips, Pine, Col; 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 1985 at the United Methodist Church in Farmington with the Rev. James Rozendaal officiating. Burial will be in Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington.

A memorial is being established with the United Methodist Church in Farmington. Contributions may be made at the church or at the Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington, which is in charge of arrangements.
