Norman F. Snyder Sr., 75, of 111 S. Eighth, died in Burlington Medical Center Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1985

He was born in Burlington Feb. 25, 1910, to Frederick and Henrietta Quelle Snyder. He married Ethel Sander, who died in 1970. He married Emma Gean Dehner in Burlington Jan. 8, 1972.

Mr. Snyder had owned the Snyder D-X service station and The Nut Hut and was a toll collector on the MacArthur Bridge for 20 years.

He attended St. Ambrose College, Davenport, and on Oct. 20, 1985, was inducted into the St. Ambrose Hall of Fame. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church.

Surviving: His wife; a son, Norman F. Jr., Birmingham; two daughters, Betsy Rutledge, Milledgeville, Ga., and Rita Miller, Burlington; three stepdaughters, Rita Harnish, Madison, Wis., Joanne Nafzger, Albany, Wis., and Jeanne Davis, Burlington; a sister, Frances Carey, Toledo, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Church; Sacred Heart Cemetery. Rosary: Sheagren Funeral Home at 7 p.m. Friday. Memorials have been established for the Burlington Catholic School System, St. John Church, and St. Ambrose College.
