Joseph A. Vrana

Joseph A. Vrana, son of Anton and Mary Chipera Vrana, was born May 29, 1911 in Iowa City and departed this life the evening of Tuesday, December 9, 1986 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua at the age of 75.

He grew up in Iowa City, lived a number of years in Cedar Rapids, moved to Spokane, Washington in 1948 and to Milton in 1980.

He was a meat cutter for Armour and Company in Spokane for 23 years. He was a member of the Milton Christian Church.

On February 1, 1948, he married Arlene Wheaton Beach.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Barbara Hickman, Casa Loma, Arizona; two sisters, Helen Jensen, Coralville and Agnes West, Cedar Rapids; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A daughter, Ruth Steffey and a sister, Mary McKittreck preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 12, 1986 at 1:30 p.m. in the Milton Christian Church with Ed Pool, minister, officiating. Interment was in Sunnyside Cemetery, Milton. Memorials were established for the American Cancer Society and the Milton Christian Church. Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, was in charge of arrangements.
