Stan D. Lane

Stan Dewey Lane, the son of Dewey and Jennie Trumbo Lane was born near Stockport, Iowa June 18th, 1922 and departed this life November 2, 1986 at the age of 64 years.

He was educated in the Stockport High School in 1940.

On June 11, 1941 he married Twila Davison at Kahoka, Missouri. To this union was born two sons, Steven K. and Gary D. Lane, both of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, his two sons, two daughters-in-law, and three grandchildren, Tyler, Parker and Kristin. Also a brother Beryl Lane of Stockport, two aunts, Gertrude Trumbo of Bloomfield and Wilda C. Trumbo of Des Moines. And one uncle Frank Lane of Fairfield, several cousins and a host of friends. His father and mother preceded him in death.

He was a self employed farmer for more than 45 years in the Stockport community and was a member of the Stockport United Methodist Church, Workman Masonic Lodge #634 and the Eagles Lodge of Fairfield. He was a Field Assessor for Van Buren County for many years. At the time of death he was still serving as a Committeeman for the ASCS office.

Services were held at the Methodist Church in Stockport at 10:30 A.M. on November 5, with burial at Spencer Cemetery.
