Don Spears

Don G. Spears, 70, of 536 Davis died Dec. 5, 1986, at his home.

He was born April 5, 1916, in Ottumwa to James and Maude Lowe Spears. He was a member of the State Archeological Society. A U.S. Army veteran, he was stationed at Pearl Harbor in 1941. He worked as a mechanic at John Deere Ottumwa Works before he retired.

He is survived by a sister, Mary Johnston of Stockport; a niece; and one great-niece.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Robertson-Jay Funeral Home, the Rev. Cecil Simonton of Davis Street Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

Visitation is open at the funeral home. A memorial has been established.
