Kathryn Marnette

Kathryn Marnette, 75, of Santa Barbara, California, died at 12:30 p.m. November 12, 1986, at the High Haven Nursing Facility in Fullerton, Calif.

She was born March 2, 1911, in Keosauqua, Iowa to Dick and Mabel Therme. She attended and graduated from Keosauqua Schools, later going to Des Moines, where she graduated from Capital City Commercial College, then worked in a Des Moines office.

She married Thomas Marnette in 1934, living in Charles City until he was called into active service as an army lieutenant in World War II, when he was killed in Africa.

She lived in Santa Barbara, where she was a legal secretary for many years, was a 50 year member of the PEO.

She is survived by one daughter, Diane (Mrs. Jay) Sagen, a granddaughter, Kari, both of Irvine, Calif., her mother, Mabel Therme of Ottumwa Manor and a sister, Mary Jeannette Steinmeyer of Ottumwa, also two cousins, Richard Blackledge of San Mateo, Calif. and Madeline McCoy, Keosauqua. Her father and a brother preceded her in death. The body is to be cremated.
