Clyde Carter

MOULTON - Clyde H. Carter, 83, of Moulton died Dec. 22, 1986, at Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, following a lengthy illness.

He was born April 26, 1903, in Wapello County to Ora and Ida Fugua Carter. He was a farmer and had worked at John Morrell & Co. He retired from Douds Stone Quarry in 1966. He married Shirley A. Swords Nov. 12, 1949, in Kirksville, Mo.

He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Patricia Steelman and Karen Stain of Frisco, Colo; Sandra Brinegar of Decatur, Ill., and Cindy Woods of Olwein; seven grandchildren; eight children by a previous marriage; and two sisters, Cleota Hazeltine of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Jenie Gates of Davenport.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Fairview Church of the Brethren in Udell, the Rev. Bob Sifrit officiating. Burial will be in Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday at Duley Funeral Home in Moulton.
