Martha Sickels

ELDON - Martha M. Sickels, 79, died Dec. 3, 1986, at the home of her son, southwest of Douds.

She was born April 15, 1907, in Plano to Charles B. and Rhoda E. Thomas Hughes. She lived in the Eldon community most of her life. She married William B. Sickels in 1925. He died Dec. 6, 1969.

She is survived by two daughters, Louella H. Tweedy of Des Moines, and Martha Ann Bailey of Selma; three sons, Charles B. and Orville E. of Des Moines, and John W. of Douds; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alta Wilburn of Davenport.

She was preceded in death by a son in 1931.

The service will be 1:30 p.m. today at Campbell Funeral Home in Eldon, the Rev. Dan Mast officiating. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery, north of Douds.

Visitation is open.
