Melvin Edwards

Funeral services were today, Jan. 16, at Christ the King Catholic church, Mesas, Ariz., for Melvin Edwards, 53, 660 E. Broadway, Mesa, a former Fort Madison resident. Burial with military rites was in the Pennacle Peak Military cemetery, Mesa.

Mr. Edwards died Jan. 11, 1933, at Stockport, Iowa. He served in the Navy from 1952 to 1962, retiring due to disability.

He married JoAnn Rippenkroeger at Fort Madison. She survives.

Also surviving are his step mother, Gladys Edwards, For Madison; a daughter, Donna Kirk, Mesa; a step brother, Richard Davies, Fort Madison; and a sister, Marie Weibler, Scranton, Kan.

His parents were Glen and Esther Edwards.
