Florence F. Cresswell

Florence F. Cresswell, 98, 601 N. Court St., died at 7:46 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. s4, 1991, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Wallarab officiating. Burial will be in Vale Cemetery near the Harrisburg Church. Visitation is open at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to First Presbyterian Church.

Miss Cresswell was born Aug. 11, 1893, in Harrisburg Township of Van Buren County, the daughter of John and Grace Farnum Cresswell. She graduated from Parsons College in 1912 and got a master's degree from Columbia University in 1919. She taught English and was debate coach at Bessemer High School in Bessemer, Mich., for 34 years. She has lived in Fairfield since 1950. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Gamma Circle, past member of Daughters of the American Revolution and various professional organizations.

Surviving are a sister, Helen Cresswell of Fairfield, and a cousin. A brother, John Jr., preceded her in death.
