MRS. IONA ROSS
Funeral service for Mrs. Iona Ross, 95, of Oswego, N. Y., will be held May 4 at 2 p. m. in Anson Community church with the Rev. Leroy Moore of the Farmington Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in the Anson, Mo. cemetery.
Mrs. Ross, daughter of the late Arthur and Lucetta Slocum Holler and wife of the late Charles E. Ross, died Jan. 22. Services were held at Oswego, N. Y. on Jan. 25 and the body placed in a receiving vault.
Mrs. Ross was born Feb. 27, 1867 in Marshall County, Ill., but moved with her parents to Akron, Iowa at an early age. Previous to her marriage in 1888, she taught school in Iowa. She lived in Kansas for 25 years and then moved to Niles, Mich., where her husband died in 1940.
Mrs. Ross has made her home with her daughter Mrs. Alice Bales in Oswego since 1942. She is a member of the Oswego County Home Bureau and the Church of Christ, Niles, Mich., and Eastern Star.
In addition to Mrs. Bales she is survived by another daughter, Mrs. P. L. (Esther) Warren, Stuart, Fla. A son, Arthur S. Ross, was killed in action in France during world war I. Also surviving are four grandsons, Dr. Harold Bales and Dr. Charles Bales, both of Rochester, N. Y. and Joseph Ross and James L. Warren, both of Chicago, Ill., eight great grandchildren.
