Floyd Murphy 1915 - 1973

Floyd Murphy, 57, died at 6:45 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, [1973] at Fort Madison in Sacred Heart Hospital. He had been ill 10 days.

Mr. Murphy was born Nov. 13, 1915 in Keosauqua, [IA]. He had lived in Fort Madison for 31 years and was a decorator and paint contractor.

On March 7, 1936 at Keokuk, he married Iona Y. Richardson, who survives. He was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Besides his wife, he is survied by two sons, Morris F. Murphy, Knoxville, and Patrick S. Murphy, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Darla) Worrell, Donnellson, and Miss Lynn Colleen Murphy at home; two brothers, Lawrence Murphy, Keosauqua; and John Murphy, Casper, WY; a sister Mrs. Benn (Iva) Hixson, Douglas, WY; and four grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. His parents were Morris and Ethel Kisling Murphy.

Final rites were at 1:30 pm, Monday at Brant-Clements Chapel. The Rev. W.G. Loewin, Burlington officiated. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
