LIAL HUMPHREY
Lial Humphrey, 76, of Milton died August 25, 1985 at University Hospitals, Iowa City.
He was born February 25, 1909 in Davis County, Iowa to A.K. and Maudie Wimp Humphrey.
He was a retired carpenter and lived in Milton most of his life. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of American Legion Post 483 in Milton and the Milton Fire Department.
He married Florence Baldwin, November 22, 1928 in Greeley, Colorado.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Shirley Baxter of Fort Madison, Joanne Evans of Burlington, Susan Nelson of East Moline, Illinois and Sandy Hainline of Bonaparte; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 28 at the Milton United Methodist Church. The Reverends Charles and Marilyn Butler officiated. Burial with military rites was at Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton. A memorial has been established. Wagler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
