FAIRFIELD - Former Stockport area resident Ralph S. Platzer, 83, of Borger, Texas, died May 25, 1985, at his home.
He was born Oct. 24, 1901, in Iowa City to Albert and Frona Kutcher Platzer. He married Thelma E. Brickey on Aug. 6, 1928, in Davenport. She died in July 1968. He had lived in the Hutchison County, Texas, since 1934 and was a civil engineer for Philips Petroleum in Borger, Texas, since 1934 and was a civil engineer for Petroleum in Borger, Texas, before he retired. He was a member of the St. Andrew's Methodist Church in Borger.
He is survived by a son, Dale D. of Evergreen, Colo.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lillian Hoaglund of Iowa City.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, the Rev. Duane Olsen officiating. Burial will be in the Spencer Cemetery.
Visitation begins after 5 p.m. Wednesday.
