Pearl S. Reed

Pearl s. Reed, daughter of William and Mary Kelly Umphrey, was born March 16, 1881 at LaGrange, Mo. and died Saturday, June 22, 1985 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua at the age of 104.

As a child she moved with her parents to Pittsburg. She married David Oscar "Pete" Reed September 12, 1900. They operated the Pittsburg store for many years. Mr. Reed died in 1947. A sister, Della Wilson also preceded her in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Fern Robbins of Pittsburg, a son, Robert and his wife Margaret of Keosauqua, two grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

She was a Metodist(Methodist).

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 25, 1985 at 11 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Don Morrison of the Keosauqua United Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in Pittsburg Cemetery. Memorials were established for the Van Buren Good Samaritan Center and the Van Buren County Public Health Nursing Health Aide Service.
